Forecast is 60 percent chance of afternoon storms. Deck looks fine, so nobody re-nailed or took photos. Find the problems.

Reroof in progress: the crew ran starter course along the eave using full architectural shingles turned upside down, didn't put any starter on the rakes, and they've got the first course hanging 2 inches past the drip edge because the fascia is a little wavy. What's wrong?

Closed-cut valley between the main 8:12 roof and a small 5:12 dormer roof. The crew shingled the big main roof plane first, ran those shingles about 12 inches past the valley centerline, then ran the dormer shingles across the valley and cut them back 2 inches from center. Concrete flat tile reroof in Clay County, Florida (design wind about 130-140 mph), 4:12 hip roof. Plan on the permit says: single layer of #30 felt cap-nailed, tile nailed with two smooth-shank nails per tile direct to the 15/32 deck, hip and ridge tiles set in mortar only on top of the field tile, no nailer board. Building department hasn't inspected yet. What's going to get red-tagged?
