• Use #6 x 1-5/8" screws for 1/2" board (penetrate stud ≥ 5/8").
• Stagger end joints 6" minimum.
• No adhesive allowed per your plan—spacing compensates.

Safety note: If ceiling spans exceed 12" o.c. or you're in a seismic/high-wind zone, consult a structural engineer. Otherwise, this spacing meets standard residential codes.

Walls: 16" on center (max) along each stud. Ceiling: 12" on center (max) along each joist.

Practical notes:

• Keep screws ≥ 3/8" from panel edges.
• Drive heads slightly below paper surface without tearing it.

• No adhesive = more critical to hit spacing exactly.
